USE OF SEQUESTRANTS FOR TREATING PRION DISEASES

The invention concerns the use of sequestrants for treating prion diseases. Particularly, it concerns sequestrants used for preparing a pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing prion diseases in human and animal and, more generally, diseases mediated by non-conventional transmissible agents. Clioquinol and phanquone sequestrants are preferred sequestrants for preparing said composition. The invention also concerns methods for treating or preventing prion diseases.
