Catalyst for steam cracking reactions consists of crystal calcium aluminate which has molar ratio CaO/Al2O3 in the framework of 1/6 to 3 and molibdene and/or vanadium oxide characterized by the fact that molibdene oxide expressed as MoO3 or vanadium oxide expressed as V2O5 or addition of these two oxides, in the amount from 0.5 to 10% and primarily from 0.8 to 5% of mass.
