A method of sealing a joint between two panels 5. A compressible gasket 6 is held in place and compressed by a stud 5 inserted into a resilient clip 8. The clip 8 has inwardly facing protrusions to engage the stud 5 The gasket may be flush with the edge of the stud 5 or recessed from the edge of the stud 5 to form a channel into which a sealant can be inserted. By adapting the form of the stud and clip the seal may be formed on the top surface of two abutting panels along the joint fig.1A, along the ends of the two panels and flush with the outside surfaces (fig 3 not shown), or at the intersection of a corner (fig 2 not shown) e.g between wall and ceiling. A door comprising front and rear panels which are hermetically sealed is also disclosed. |
