PURPOSE: A slot mode switching method in a mobile communication terminal is provided to increase life span of a mobile communication terminal by setting a power saving mode according to a mobile terminal user's request and reducing a power consumption according to a long slot cycle period of the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A controller is in a standby state(300). The controller checks whether there is a key input signal from a key input unit(310). If there is a key input signal, the controller checks whether the key input signal is a signal requesting power saving(320). If the signal requests power saving, the controller checks whether it is in a power saving mode(350). If it is in the power waving mode, the controller performs a power saving process(360). The controller checks whether the key in put signal is a signal requesting power saving release(330). If the signal requests release of power saving, the controller checks whether the power saving mode has been released(370). If the power saving mode has been released, the controller performs a process to release power saving(380). If the power saving has not been released, the controller recognizes the state as error(390). |
