PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user can not discriminate the kind of contents even by observing display when the contents conventionally recorded in a hard disk is made into library and displayed by a list. SOLUTION: A recording part 8 sets a value of an HDD flag as '10' when the contents to be recorded in the hard disk 1 is judged as data for high speed access of the contents recorded in a magnetic tape 4, sets the value of the HDD flag as '01' when contents data except the data for high speed access is judged to be recorded and records the HDD flag together with the contents data and information regarding the contents. When only a piece of management information is recorded, the value of the HDD flag is set as '00' and the information regarding the contents and the HDD flag are recorded in the hard disk 1. The recorded contents are easily managed by the HDD flag.
