PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To visually warn a user of any abnormal charging state, such as overcharging, of a battery pack, and further to reduce the voltage to a safe range. SOLUTION: The battery pack provided with a warning function comprises charging/ discharging controlling elements SW1 and SW2 connected directly with one or more secondary batteries 1; and a protecting function control means 2 which monitors the terminal voltages of the secondary batteries 1 and controls the charging/discharging control elements. A series body composed of a warning indicating means LED1 and a warning portion controlling element SW1, which turns on and off the means LED1 is connected, in parallel with the secondary battery 1. When the protecting function control means monitoring the terminal voltages of the secondary batteries detects overcharging, the protecting function control means on-controls the warning portion control element SW3 and causes the warning indicating means to visually warn of the abnormal charging of the battery pack. When the protecting function control means 2 detects overcharging, the protecting function control means off-controls the charge/discharge control element S1 and at the same time conducts on-controls the warning portion control element SW3 by means of an identical output signal. Further, the protecting function control means reduces the voltage through self-discharging.
