PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic printer capable of keeping a surface potential constant even a photoreceptor film on the surface of a photoreceptor drum is worn out. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic printer comprises an electrifying power source 3, an electrifying roller 1, a photoreceptor drum 2, a static elimination means 11, an electrifying current observation means 4, a transfer power source 9, a transfer roller 8, a transfer current observation means 14, a calculation and control means 12 and a storage means 13. The calculation and control means 13 makes the photoreceptor drum rotate more than one round in an initial operation with the static elimination means in the OFF state, makes the electrifying power source generate the voltage desired as a surface potential -Vsf of the photoreceptor drum as an electrifying voltage -Vmc, obtains a transfer current Itr, calculates an electrifying voltage necessary for obtaining the obtained transfer current in the ON state of the static elimination means, and stores the voltage in the storage means. In printing, the calculation and control means makes the photoreceptor drum rotate in the ON state of the static elimination means and makes the electrifying voltage outputted from the electrifying power source coincide with the value stored in the storage means. |
