The adjustable roller skate has the roller plane tiltable parallel to the base of the boot (2) . The roller assembly (4) can be locked in skating or walking configurations. The skate has a casing (8) tilting at ninety degrees around its longitudinal axis under the sole of the boot. The casing is circular in section to aid tilting. A brake pad is provided to operate when the boot is tilted backwardly
