PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring camera system which does not need to confirm the address of the monitoring camera by an operator when the camera providing an image to a predetermined monitor is remotely controlled. SOLUTION: A multiplexer comprises a monitor number-camera channel table for storing the relation between the monitor number and the connecting channel of the monitoring camera connected to the monitor, a camera channel- camera address table for storing the relation between the camera channel and the address of the camera connected to the camera channel, and a transmitting means for reading the address of the camera providing the image to the monitor corresponding to the received monitor number from the camera channel-monitor number table and the camera channel-camera address table when a query of the monitoring camera address in association with the monitor number is received from the controller and transmitting the address to the controller of a query originator.
