PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo information recording method which excludes overlap of servo bursts between adjacent tracks, which is brought about at the time of recording servo information in each area of a disk. SOLUTION: When servo information is recorded on a disk like an HDD capable of recording high-density information, the most suitable track density of each area in the radial direction of the disk is calculated, and the rotation angle of the head for each area so that the area may have the calculated most suitable track density, and the head is rotated at this rotation angle to record servo information in the area. That is, the rotation angle of the head is made different by areas, and servo information is recorded in the areas at the most suitable track pitches.
