A method of screening a substance which binds to activated Na channel but is quickly released from inactivated or stationary Na channel, characterized by comprising 1 the step of confirming that, in inhibition of the utilization-dependency of a test substance on sodium channel, the expression speed is 0.3 AP-1 or above or the recovery constant is 1000 msec or below, and 2 the step of confirming that the test substance has a high affinity for activated Na channel and atrial fibrillation regulators and Na channel inhibitors containing substances specified by the above method. Thus substances usable in atrial fibrillation regulators and the like can be easily distinguished.
