BUMPER REINFORCING STRUCTURE FOR AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the assembling workability of a front bumper body 4 and to prevent an interference with a bonnet hood 2 when a bumper reinforcing member 5 is provided responding to an increase in weight of the front bumper body 4 in a structure changing the external appearance design of an automobile by installing a front air dam 6 of vacuum molding in the front side of the front bumper body 4. SOLUTION: The bumper reinforcing member 5 is disposed in the rear side of the front bumper body 4 and an attachment flange 12 formed in the upper end of the bumper upper wall part 11 is attached to the car body by a support bracket 20. The car body side of the support bracket 20 and a car body panel 13 clamp the upper side flange 37 of the bumper reinforcing member 5 therebetween. The support bracket 20 is formed with a step 45 with its bumper side being low so that the attachment surface of the attachment flange 12 and the attachment surface of the bumper reinforcing member 5 in the car body panel 13 are positioned approximately flush with each other.
