PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photometry device for a camera which can judge back light with high accuracy. SOLUTION: Object brightness and object distances are measured in a plurality of regions in a photographic picture (101, 102), and the plurality of regions in the photographic picture are grouped on the basis of the measured object distances (112). A photometric value for each group is calculated on the basis of the measured object brightness (113). One group is selected to obtain a difference between the photometric values of the selected group and the other groups, and the back light is judged (115). The decision value of a back light judging means is changed according to the position and the size of the selected group in the photographic picture. |
