PURPOSE: A method for setting a bit time register is provided to detect an optimum sample point and stabilize the data transmission between systems by detecting a sample point with least transmission errors and setting the bit time register accordingly. CONSTITUTION: The method for setting a bit time register comprises initialization, data transmission and error handling routine(s601). The initialization enables various interrupts necessary for the communication between systems and sets the bit time register to form data to be transmitted. The data transmission is performed at a set cycle(s602 - s603). When an error in data transmission is detected, the error handling routine is carried out. When the result value of the error handling routine is greater than a predetermined standard value, the sample point of the bit time register is reset to form data(s604 - s605).
