PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock-absorbing fence, by which large impulsive force can be absorbed effectively and which has excellent workability on an assembly. SOLUTION: A plurality of supports 2 and 2 are installed at regular intervals, and a plurality of stages of horizontal rope materials 3 are mounted among the supports 2 and 2. Loop sections 5 are formed to a plurality of stages of the horizontal rope materials 3, and shock-absorbing materials 8 capable of being deformed by the shrinkage of the loop sections 5 are arranged into the loop sections 5. When the impulsive force of a rock fall or the like is applied, tensile force works to the horizontal rope materials 3, the loop sections 5 are shrunk by the tensile force, and energy is absorbed by the deformation of the shock-absorbing materials 8 in the loop sections 5. Since the loop sections 5 of a plurality of the horizontal rope materials 3 are formed to the common shock-absorbing materials 8, the number of part items such as the used shock- absorbing materials 8 can be reduced while workability on the assembly is improved.
