PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold-rolled stainless steel strip having extremely satisfactory surface glossiness. SOLUTION: The cold-rolled stainless steel strip having the extremely satisfactory surface glossiness includes 15 wt.% or less Cr and 0.1 wt.% or more C, wherein the glossiness of the surface of the steel strip is 700 (Gs (specular gloss) at 20 degree) or higher. The method for manufacturing the steel strip is characterized by controlling a concentration of iron ions in a nitric acid aqueous solution in a nitric acid pickling tank to 2.0 wt.% or less, when annealing the cold-rolled stainless steel strip and then pickling it in the nitric acid solution.
