PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional motor-driven wheelchair has the defect of making the wheelchair itself heavy and difficult to move as a result since a battery or motive force source has to be large for rotating rear wheels by freely attachably and detachably fitting a motor-driven unit integrating a pair of left and right driving motors, the battery and a controller to a pair of left and right brackets fixed on wheelchair body frames. SOLUTION: In the motor-driven wheel support, a motor-driven wheel can be directly turned by the rotational force of the motor in place of the front wheels (casters) of a conventional manual wheelchair and forward/backward movement can be operated by an operating part linked with driving parts through struts. Such a motor-driven wheel support linked with the battery is attached to a manual wheel chair, the weights of the wheelchair itself and the other parts are reduced especially by using a miniaturized motor composed of a DC brushless motor by using a nickel-cadmium battery as the battery, and the motor-driven wheelchair having improved operability is provided. |
