PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new protein having a specific bonding ability to α- GalNAc (α-N-acetyl-D-galactosamine) and/or plasma-agglutination activity, and to provide DNA containing a base sequence coding the protein. SOLUTION: This new protein is obtained by purifying the crude extract from internal organs of a cusion-star (Asterina pectinifera) and has a specific bonding ability to α-GalNAc and/or plasma-agglutination activity. DNA containing a base sequence cording the protein is provided and applications of the protein and the DNA are also provided. |
