The kite wing, having a reinforced semi-circular structure with leading (4) and trailing (12) edges, upper end lower skins and control lines connected to its two ends, has the width of its upper and lower skins reducing more or less continuously from its centre to its two ends, giving the trailing edge the partial form of an ellipse with the length of its focal axis (16) being smaller than the diameter (14) of the initial semicircle. The wing can be inflatable, reinforced with a plastic foam material, or have air inlets to support the two skins separately during flight.
