PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter without any color layer lacking part on a color layer forming region inside a partition wall part and with a color layer having uniform layer thickness formed thereon. SOLUTION: The color filter is constructed by forming a plurality of color layers by discharging coloring ink on a substrate. The color filter 1 is characterized by forming the partition wall parts 3 surrounding the color layer forming regions 5 forming the respective color layers 6 on a surface of the substrate respectively wherein widths W between inside walls 3b, 3b opposite to each other of the partition wall parts 3 are made nearly uniform, the respective color layer forming regions 5 are partitioned with the inside walls of the partition wall parts 3 and the substrate and the color layers 6 are formed by discharging the coloring ink on the respective color layer forming regions 5.
