PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a battery with no danger of electric shock in the fitting work to a battery post and high safety. SOLUTION: This connector C1 for the battery is composed of a battery terminal 5 having a post fitting part loosely engaged with the battery post 2 in a free state, fit by pressure bonding to the outer circumference of the battery post 2 by reducing the diameter; a terminal cover 10 housing the battery terminal 5, having an opening part 12 fitting the battery terminal 5 to the battery post 2; and a pressure bonding operation member 15 rotatively installed in the terminal cover 10, and in a state that a post fitting part 5a is loosely engaged with the battery post 2, by rotating from the initial position to a fastening position, the diameter of the post fitting part 5a is reduced, and the post fitting part 5a is fit by pressure bonding to the battery post.
