The invention relates to a method for tracking an object, wherein acceleration measurement data is determined with the aid of an input device which comprises inertia sensors and which can be moved along a flat surface, e.g. a computer mouse. Position data relating to the movement of the input device can be calculated on the basis of said acceleration measurement data, which can be displayed or sent for further data processing in any seemingly fit manner or used for control processes. During the execution of the method it is possible to recognize if the input device is in a rest position. The method is characterized in that a threshold value check for the determined acceleration measurement data is carried out in order to improve long-term stability. |
