<p>A video tripwire system and method for implementing same comprises a sensing device (1) for producing video output, a communication medium (2) over which the video output is transmitted, an analysis system (5) for receiving the video output from the communications medium, and a user interface (6) for sending inputs to and receiving outputs from the analysis system, thereby enabling a user to create a virtual tripwire and to provide commands to the analysis system. The sensing device may be calibrated manually and/or automatically, to determine sensing device parameters for use by the system. The analysis system determines if the virtual tripwire has been crossed, by analyzing data from the sensing device, and triggers a response to a tripwire crossing.</p> |
