PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purifier the installation space of which is reduced and to which a filter cartridge can be easily attached; and a filter cartridge used therefor. SOLUTION: The water purifier is equipped with a holder which has a water intake port connected to a faucet and a flow route switching valve capable of switching the flow route of raw water, supplied from the water intake port, from a raw water outlet port to a water delivery port for sending the raw water to a filter cartridge; a case containing a filter materials; and the filter cartridge which has an introduction port for receiving raw water sent from the water delivery port and a purified water outlet port. The filter cartridge has, at its introduction port, a section for attaching it to the water delivery port of a bayonet-structure integrally molded with the case. By rotating the filter cartridge in the direction crossing with its longitudinal direction, it in the naked state can be attached to or detached from the water delivery port.
