1315483 Amine reaction products GLASBY PHARMACEUTICALS Ltd 21 July 1970 [23 July 1969 (3)] 37033/69 37034/69 and 37035/69 Heading C2C The invention comprises the halogen-containing material obtainable by reacting a halogen with an amine or mixture of amines of the formula wherein R is a monovalent (C 1 -C 18 ) hydrocarbon radical or a (C 2 -C 18 ) hydroxyalkyl radical, n is 2, 3 or 4 and the average of the total of p + q is not less than 1À5 nor more than 5. The halogen may be reacted with the amine or mixture of amines either in the absence of a solvent or in the presence of water or an organic solvent. Examples are given for the preparation of the reaction products. They are useful as disinfectants having bactericidal and fungicidal properties. They may be used in the form of dilute aqueous solutions. |
