PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a party of a session to negotiate so as to enable multimedia streams to be transmitted by making it necessary for some element of a network to be aware that such a conference is in progress. SOLUTION: The signaling router has means for receiving messages coming from terminals or from other signaling routers, and it further comprises means for correlating a new message with a previously received message, and for forwarding the new message to a signaling router associated with the previously received message.
