PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter on array-type liquid crystal display device, having improved contrast performance by shielding light leakage from gap parts between pixel electrodes themselves. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, provided with a color filter on array substrate 13 comprising plural pixel electrodes 2a, switching active elements 4 connected electrically to the pixel electrodes 2a, wiring arranged on parts corresponding to the gaps between the pixel electrodes 2a themselves and connected electrically to the switching active elements 4 and a color filter 5 formed on a transparent substrate 1a, a counter substrate 14 placed opposite thereto with a fixed gap and a liquid crystal cell having a liquid crystal 8 enclosed in the gap between the both substrates, the liquid crystal cell is arranged so as to place the counter substrate 14 on the side irradiated with light. |
