PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup display system, which can be miniaturized or can be produced at low cost in comparison with a conventional image pickup display system and can stabilize the frame rate of a preview image. SOLUTION: In an image pickup display system 100, picture information outputted by picking up an image with an imaging device 111 of a digital camera 110 is compressed by a JPEG compression part 116, transmitted to a communication control part 152 of a portable telephone set 150 by a communication control part 118 and extended by a JPEG expansion part 153 and afterwards, when displaying the image on a liquid crystal display part 155 of the portable telephone set 150 based on the extended picture information, the JPEG compression part 116 compresses the picture information with compressibility determined by an image size detection compressibility control part 157 based on the picture information received by the communication control part 152, and transmitted to the communication control part 118 of the digital camera 110 by the communication control part 152. |
