PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television tuner capable of preventing a disturbing signal from being produced even when receiving a television signal of other channel whose frequency is about twice that of a reception channel. SOLUTION: The television tuner includes; a reception section 5 for frequency- converting a television signal with a prescribed frequency band into an intermediate frequency signal; and a low pass filter 2 whose pass band is at least the prescribed frequency band of the television signal. When the television tuner receives a television signal of a channel whose frequency is a half of a highest frequency of the prescribed frequency band or below, the television tuner selects the cut-off frequency of the low pass filter to be a frequency between a half of the highest frequency and twice the lowest frequency of the prescribed frequency band.
