<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein there is a total reflection of ultrasonic waves in a bonding boundary surface between two materials, in an ultrasonic probe having a matching layer for realizing the inclination of the acoustic impedance which is made by combining the two materials so that the boundary surface is an uneven one. SOLUTION: The angle isθthat the bonding boundary surface 56 between a first material section 50 (sound speed is C1 ) and a second material section 52 (sound speed is C2 ) which form the matching layer 30 forms with the normal with respect to the surface of the matching layer 30. The inclination angle of the bonding boundary surface 56 is so determined that C2 =C1 or C1 <C2 /cosθis satisfied if C2 <C1 .</p> |
