PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide picture communication equipment in which transmission with a desired function can be easily executed only by setting a transmitting original and selecting the name of a transmitter and therefore, the aged or the handicapped can easily send an original to a party in an optimal transmitting mode without fail in the picture communication equipment provided with respective transmitting modes. SOLUTION: This picture communication equipment has a transmitter name key for designating the transmitter; a transmitter/mode register means for correspondently registering the transmitter designated by operating the transmitter name key and a prescribed transmitting mode; and a control means for selecting the prescribed transmitting mode corresponding to the transmitter designated by operating the transmitter name key from the transmitter/mode register means when the transmitting original is set and the transmitter name key is operated, and transmitting the original corresponding to this selected transmitting mode.
