PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is provided with a handle at the position from where a user is not isolated in order to alleviate the load shared to a user when a user utilizing a wheel chair opens a document cover by approaching the image forming apparatus from the side surface direction. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises an image read unit for reading the image data from a document and a document cover which is provided to be freely opened and closed via a hinge at the upper part of the image read unit and places the document close to the image read unit. In this image forming apparatus, a handle of the document cover is provided in the side of the swaying end of the side surface of the document cover which is formed at the right-angle to the hinge axis of the hinge. |
