PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk playing method which does not need a decode circuit for decoding a DTMF (digital tone multi frequency) signal and can also perform special control without causing an obstacle when a normal disk player plays a disk that applies this present invention. SOLUTION: In this disk playing method, control information in playing a disk for sound is recorded in a character information recording area of a disk for sound as character information, and a disk player performs control corresponding to the control information on the basis of the control information recorded as the character information in the character information recording area of the disk for sound in playing the disk for sound.
