PURPOSE: An automatic gain control response time measuring method is provided to heighten precision of measuring an automatic gain control response time by accurately controlling an attenuation quantity of a digital attenuator and a timing to a desired value by using a parallel port of a PC. CONSTITUTION: A radio frequency of an automatic gain control circuit to be tested is selected and outputted. An attenuation value is determined according to the radio frequency signal. A level of the radio frequency signal is converted according to change of the attenuation value. Data are transferred and counting starts. When the final value is received by a PC, counting is terminated and a count value at the point is measured. An automatic gain control response time is deduced from the count value.
