摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that light transmission/reception efficiency between an optical fiber and an optical semiconductor element is considerably reduced due to positional slippage between the optical semiconductor element and the optical fiber. SOLUTION: A package for storing the optical semiconductor element is provided with a base body 1 which is provided with a placing part 1a for the optical semiconductor element in the center part on the upper face and is provided with a frame part 2 surrounding the placing part 1a in the outer peripheral part and in which a through hole 6 for attaching an optical fiber 7 passing through the frame part 2 is formed, and a cover body 3 which is attached to the upper face of the frame part 2 to cover the placing part 1a. The base body 1 is made of resin including glass fibers, and a part where an orientation parameter Fp of glass fibers in the direction of the optical axis of the optical fiber 7 is >=0.2 occupies >=40% in the perpendicular direction of the placing part 1a.
