<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent optical module which has a simple constitution and can be miniaturized and enables suitable optical coupling between surface light emitting elements and optical fibers with respect to a surface mounted type optical module having a plurality of surface light emitting elements and a plurality of optical fibers. SOLUTION: With respect to the optical module, a fiber holding substrate 2 which has a plurality of optical fibers 5 and four leg parts 7 on the lower face is arranged on a substrate 1, and a light incidence end 5a of each optical fiber 5 projected from the fiber holding substrate 2 is arranged in each of optical paths between surface light emitting elements 4 like an array having a plurality of light emitting points and a light receiving element 6 which monitors light emitted from respective surface light emitting elements (light emitting points), and slopes formed in the light incidence ends 5a are made to face the light receiving element 6.</p> |
