PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thickness meter for measuring a genuinely accurate thickness by correcting an error caused by the following operation of edges and the change in an ambient temperature by a simple method. SOLUTION: The thickness meter comprises a pair of distance meters 2 and 3 for measuring the distance to the opposing surface of an object 1 to be measured, and a frame 4 for mounting the pair of distance meters 2 and 3 so that the distance meters 2 and 3 can be positioned opposite to both the surfaces when viewed in the thickness direction of the object 1 to be measured. In the thickness meter, an upper strain gauge 7 and a lower strain gauge 8 are opposingly mounted to the upper root and the lower root, respectively.
