PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the cost problem arising from the use of materials capable of withstanding extensive deformation and damage for a pillar garnish in a vehicle provided with an airbag to bridge the pillar and the roof side like a curtain upon deployment and from the need of a surface material to cover the surface. SOLUTION: In this inexpensive design, the pillar garnish of the on-vehicle head protecting airbag comprises a bracket section and a face section, and the bracket section and the face section both open up upon deployment of the airbag, this easing the stress to be generated by airbag expansion. |
