CATALYST FOR PRODUCING ETHYLENE BASED POLYMER, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING ETHYLENE BASED POLYMER AND ETHYLENE-alpha- OLEFIN COPOLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly active catalyst for producing ethylene based copolymers containing components of from a high molecular weight to a low molecular weight and having good processability and excellent mechanical properties, the catalyst being capable of selectively introducing a copolymer branch into the high molecular weight side. SOLUTION: The catalyst for producing ethylene based polymers can be obtained by bringing (A) a double bridging metallocene compound to be represented by formula (2) (wherein the marks are as defined in the specification), (B) an aluminoxane compound, and (C) an inorganic carrier into contact with one another. A process for producing ethylene based polymers uses the catalyst. Ethylene-α-olefin copolymers having a bimodal molecular distribution of 5<=Mw/Mn<=80 can be obtained by using the catalyst.
