PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an optical fiber cable from moving relative to a ferrule and also to prevent transmission efficiency from deteriorating, in regard to an optical connector having a structure in which the optical fiber cable is inserted into the ferrule with the tip end face exposed. SOLUTION: In the optical connector formed in the manner that a cable body 12 is inserted into the ferrule 14A and that the tip end face 34 of the cable body 12 is exposed at the tip end of this ferrule 14A; the ferrule 14A is constituted of the main body section 15A having a first tubular part 19 and a tip section 16 into which the first tubular part 19 is force-fitted. In addition, the diameter R1 of the tip end hole 27 of the tip section 16 is set smaller than the diameter R2 of the force-fitting hole 26 where the first tubular part 19 is force-fitted; in the state of completion of the force-fitting, a gap 31 is designed to be formed between a flange 28 and the tip end 25 of the first tubular part 19; and a part of the cable body 12 enters this gap 31 to form an anchor part 45A that functions as an anchor.
