ROUTING SYSTEM FOR GUARANTEEING SERVICE QUALITY OF DELAY-CRITICAL TRAFFIC IN INTERNET NETWORK

摘要

PURPOSE: A routing system for guaranteeing a service quality of a delay-critical traffic in an Internet network is provided to install an additional probe at a network region between a starting point and a destination point, compute relay values of all paths, distribute values of all probes in order to detour a traffic toward a new path having a less delay, thereby guaranteeing a service quality at a maximum. CONSTITUTION: An Internet network structure consists of a core network(10) constructed by routers(1-6) for forwarding or limiting packets by a network layer routing protocol through a mutual connection of circuits of plural LAN(Local Area Network)s and WAN(Wide Area Network)s and probes(11-16) installed to all routers(1-6). The routers(1-6) are connected to access networks(7-9) or other ISP(Internet Service Provider). When a delay-critical traffic is come in the core network(10) through the access network(7), an edge router(1) sets a bit of a ToS(Type of Service) for processing traffics. A Traffic set the bit of the ToS is transmitted to a probe server(11) for checking the ToS of a received traffic.
