PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting wear quantity of an impact crusher by which wear quantity of an impact plate and a repulsive plate can be detected with precision and their exchanging time period can be precisely presumed and to provide an impact crusher. SOLUTION: When wear quantity of the impact plate and the repulsive plate is detected, total wear quantities L1 to L6... of the impact plate and the repulsive plate are quantitatively detected by calculation from difference between a zero point position of the repulsive plate at operating time T0 when used for no crushing work and a zero point position after elapse of prescribed operating time T1 to T6.... Thereby total wear quantities L1 to L6... can be precisely detected, exchanging operating time of the impact plate and the repulsive plate Th1', Th2, Td2, Td2'... can be also calculated from the total wear quantities L1 to L6... and their exchanging time period can be precisely presumed.
