PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize an image display device which can paint out and display an area even when part or the whole of the boundary line of the area to be painted out is outside a display area. SOLUTION: A raster scanning type image display device which scans and reads out the contents of a display memory and displays an image at display part while painting out the inner side of its boundary line is equipped with an image memory which stores image data of the image, a painting-out line drawing part which computes the coordinates of drawing pints forming the boundary line, and writes the image data to an image memory corresponding to coordinates when the coordinates are inside the display area or writes the image data to an image memory corresponding to the left end of the display area at the same y coordinate when the calculated x coordinate of the drawing point is on the left side of the display area, and a painting-out process part which stores the display data in a display memory according to the image data written to the image memory. |
