CONTENTS DISTRIBUTION DEVICE, CONTENTS REPRODUCING DEVICE, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of reading a specific ID by connecting a reading device to a storage medium for every purchase of contents. SOLUTION: Upon purchase of contents, a user conducts an operation for reading a display ID of a storage medium 32 and transmitting it to a contents distribution device 2. The contents distribution device 2 inquires a specific ID forming a pair with the display ID to a storage medium manufacturing device 1. The contents distribution device 2 encrypts the contents with a common key by an encryption unit 23, and encrypts the common key with the specific ID by an encryption unit 22, and transmits a set of the encrypted common key and the encrypted contents to a contents reproducing device 3. After storing the set into the storage medium 32, the contents reproducing device 3 reads the specific ID from the storage medium 32 by a decryption unit 33, and decrypts the encrypted common key to generate the common key, and decrypts the encrypted contents using the common key by a decryption unit 34 to reproduce the contents.
