PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently repair a branch part of a pipeline at a low cost without shutting off fluid flowing in the pipeline and without setting up a bypass line separately. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for repairing a pipeline by coating a repair band on a branch part of the pipeline. The repair band 3 comprises band pieces 4, 8 divided into at least two in a circumference direction. A branch pipe 6 capable of having a branch pipeline 2 inserted therein is formed on one of the band pieces 4, 8. The band piece 4 having the branch pipeline 2 inserted therein to form the branch pipe 6 is covered on outer circumference of the pipeline 1 and another band piece 8 is covered on a remaining part of the outer circumference of the pipeline 1. The band pieces 4, 8 are welded on the outer circumference of the pipeline 1 each other to form the repair band 3. The outer circumference of the pipeline 1, 2 covered with the repair band 3.
