PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leakage liquid sensor equipped with a mounting abnormality detection means, capable of detecting a small quantity of a leakage liquid. SOLUTION: First and second detection surfaces 27A, 27B provided on a translucent sensor body 21 are arranged oppositely to the surface F to be submerged submergible by the leakage liquid, and by utilizing the fact that a total reflection condition differs according to existence of the leakage liquid, the leakage liquid is detected by an output of a light receiving element 26 receiving light irradiated from a floodlighting element 25 and reflected by the first and second detection surfaces 27A, 27B. In this case, the first and second detection surfaces 27A, 27B of the sensor body 21 are arranged approximately in contact with the surface F to be submerged on the sideward separated position from a holding fixture 50, and a permanent magnet 45 is provided on the holding fixture 40, and a hole IC 34 is formed on the sensor body 21, to thereby detect whether the sensor body 21 is installed on the normal position or not.
