[Also in Group XVII] An arrangement for cutting a tear strip secured to a length of wrapping material, in such a manner that the tear strip protrudes from an end of each wrapping section when subsequently cut from the material comprises a rotatable cutter 1 provided with a U-shaped cutting edge cooperable with an idling counter-roller 14. Means may be provided for continuously gluing the tear strip, prior to its being cut, on a web of wrapping material supplied from a bobbin. The cutter 1 is secured to a hub 2 rotatable on a shaft 3 which is rotatably mounted in brackets 4, 5 displaceable about bolts 7, 8 by means of screws 13 adjustable in slots 12 in the brackets. The counter-roller, which is preferably in the form of a ball bearing, is also laterally adjustable. The shaft 3 is rotatable by means of a gear 17 thereon engaging a driving gear 11 on the bolt 8. |
