PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor capable of surely detecting a lubrication oil level and a refrigeration unit provided with the same. SOLUTION: A compressor of refrigerant storing lubrication oil in a housing of the compressor is formed of a communicating tube communicating the lower part and upper part of the housing, a first temperature sensor installed at the bottom where the lubrication oil of the compressor is stored, a second temperature sensor and a heater. A refrigeration unit is provided with the compressor and a liquid level detecting and determination means to compare the temperature detected by the first temperature sensor with that of the second temperature sensor, and outputs a control signal and an indication in accordance with the comparison result. Thus, it is possible to determine whether the lubrication oil level is above the second temperature sensor or under the same and prevent the hindrance to the operation of the refrigeration unit avoiding any trouble such as seizure due to a lubrication failure.
