PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactive material used in an image recording method preventing feathering, color boundary blur and strike through with respect to various materials to be recorded, obtaining an image of high quality even at the time of high speed printing, hard to generate the curl or cockling and high in feed reliability in a printer for a material to be recorded. SOLUTION: The reactive material is used in an image forming method having a process (A) for discharging a recording liquid containing a colorant as liquid drops corresponding to an image signal to apply the same to a transfer body, a process (B) for applying a reactive substance containing a compound capable of reacting with one component in the recording liquid to the transfer body, a process (C) for bringing the recording liquid and the reactive material into contact with each other to mix them on the transfer body and a process (D) for transferring the mixture to the material to be recorded. The reactive substance contains a compound capable of lowering the solubility or dispersibility of one component in the recording liquid and the reactive material contains a polymer fine particle dispersion capable of forming a film. |
