PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding method and a device for combined surface that can suppress the investment cost in plant and equipment low, eliminate dimensional dispersion caused by dividing the grinding process for two grinding machines and shorten the cycle time of the grinding process by using one grinding machine for grinding the combined faces of a work piece. SOLUTION: A work piece having a first side face and a V groove formed by a second side face and a third side face, is turned around an axis of the work piece. A grinding wheel having the first to the third grinding sides face is moved relatively to the work piece up to an advanced edge position with a moving angle, that is bigger than the second angle defined by the axis line and the second side face of the work piece and that is smaller than the first angle defined by the axis line and the first side face. The first side face and the third side face are ground up to specified dimensions by the first grinding side face and the third grinding side face. The second side face is ground by the second grinding side face leaving the grinding range by feed in the axis line direction. Then the work piece is moved relatively to the grinding wheel in the axis line direction from the condition that the grinding wheel is at the advanced edge position, and the second side face is ground only within the grinding range by feed in the axis line direction by the second grinding side face.
